Arts in the
During the Arts in the Afternoon program, children are provided a healthy snack, homework assistance from our staff, and fun activities each day from 2:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.
Our learning centers foster discovery and understanding of the world. The Art Area is designed to encourage creativity and self-expression, the Construction Area is a favorite of children who like to build and design things, and the Dramatic Play Area is a great place to help children develop social skills. Also, iPads with age-appropriate learning apps are available for the children’s use.
We provide transportation from Horn, Condit, Kolter, and Lovett elementary schools. All children transported in a MCC van are securely buckled into booster seats or car seats, depending on the weight, height, and age of the child. Our drivers are regularly tested and adhere to strict protocols for transporting children.
Contact the office for more enrollment information.
My Country Art Camp offers an exciting and safe environment for students to explore the fine arts! During Summer Art School students have opportunities to develop social skills, stay active, and create lasting friendships and memories! Children 5 - 8 years of age are welcome!
Art lessons will engage the students in fun and instructional activities designed to instill in them an appreciation for the arts. Each week, we will focus on a different style of art and famous artist. Students will participate in hands-on art activities designed to teach them about color, texture, media, and a variety of art techniques. We will explore the use of acrylics, oil pastels, chalk, graphite, and watercolors to create stunning works of art.
In theater class, the students' confidence, creativity, and communication skills will be enhanced while they participate in unique theatrical games, puppetry, storytelling, funny dances, pantomime, and improvisation each week.
During each session, students will learn about healthy eating, nutrition labels, and will learn how to make fun and healthy snacks.
Holiday Camps are available for school-age children for one week during spring break and two weeks during winter break. Children participate in several field trips and fun projects during Holiday Camps! Daily and weekly rates are available.
Each week students will explore traditional styles of crafting and process art. They will learn basic weaving, woodworking, jewelry making, print making, and stamping techniques.
